Alex Draeger has been providing piano service since 2012. He is an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild and continues in his education and development as a technician. He also has a degree in vocal music education from UW-La Crosse.
Most manufacturers recommend having a piano tuned 2-4 times a year. Many people are satisfied with having their piano tuned once a year, and this is the minimum I would recommend.
Changes in temperature and humidity cause the soundboard to push on the bridge and change the tension of the strings. Playing the piano heavily, as well as stretching strings on a new piano are other factors.
Communities I service include Marshfield, Medford, Phillips, Thorp, and several areas in between.
With tax included, the price for a tuning appointment is $120 taxable. If the piano is in a tax exempt institution such as a church or school, the cost is $114 tax exempt. Repairs cost $60/hour.
I generally spend an hour for a standard tuning.
